Beautiful Island, extremely friendly and welcoming people, glorious sunshine and beaches to relax on or activities to participate in, but best of all the Bougainvillea Beach Resort. Excellent position right on Maxwell beach, spacious, clean apartment, lovely pools and restaurants, and the most friendly, helpful staff I have met anywhere - my every need was accommodated! I will definitely be returning as soon as I can.

We have just returned from a fantastic stay at the Bougainvillea Resort in Barbados. This was our second stay at the resort and this time we traveled with our dear friends in celebration of our 50th birthdays. From the moment we stepped out of the airport shuttle to open welcoming arms from the on duty manager, our every need was met. You will not find another resort on the island that has so many friendly, outgoing, genuine staff who truly just want to make your stay an enjoyable one. The rooms, pools, beach, Kim at the front who always made sure we had a cab and a good laugh, are all second to none. We look forward to our next visit and will look nowhere further than the Bougainvillea Resort. We ran into a lady who was back for her 19th stay. That says it all.

We met so many nice people. Our friends Bill and April who we hooked up with. Lorne and Paulette who go there every year. The food, the drinks, the rooms bright and cheerful and spotlessly clean, the beautiful beach, and of course the friendly staff of the hotel. Was nice that our daughter Meghan came with us. Hope to be back some day soon.

My boyfriend and I just returned home from a fabulous vacation at the Bougainvillea. We were pleasantly surprised at the beauty of the resort and the friendliness of the staff and locals. Everything is well kept and very clean; the facilities and
amenities are perfect ~ rooms, pools, swim-up bar, restaurants, beach front views, water sports, etc. The resort is in a great location - easily accessible to great restaurants, duty-free shopping, and other attractions. The activities desk is an added bonus, with all tours providing transportation with direct pick-up and drop-off from the resort lobby. We went on a catamaran/snorkel adventure, Island Safari ATV tour of the island, and saw the Bajan Rhythm and Roots show. Everything was fantastic! Even with experiencing the rain and wind from Hurricane Dean on Thursday night and Friday, we still had a wonderful time. We will definitely be visiting Barbados and the Bougainvillea again soon! :-)

The staff made me very welcome and the pool bar staff are amazing. I laughed every day and they make a mean rum punch. Will see them all again next year. Can't wait.........

Our wedding was wonderful! The wedding coordinator Heather was excellent! The back drop of the ocean and beautiful island scenery was the best! I couldn’t ask for more! The room was beautiful. Sitting on the beach and listening to the steel pan playing was so relaxing! We are going to return this year 2007 for sure!

My husband & I just returned to Canada (sadly) to a great deal of snow. We had a wonderful holiday at the Bougainvillea and special thanks to Eurita, Margarite, Ray & Lisa! You made our stay more enjoyable. Everyone seemed very hospitable & it was safe. The grocery store was close by in Worthing which made it convenient. Thanks to all the staff for a wonderful stay. Just a word of caution to anyone
traveling with any special needs; there are no elevators so a request for main floor would be necessary.

The Bougainvillea Resort was wonderful. Paolo and myself have never stayed at such a beautiful and well-kept resort. The service was impeccable, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The staff were very friendly and we felt safe throughout our entire vacation. The food at the resort was great - the selection for lunch and dinner was abundant. We both do not have one negative thing to say about the resort or the island and are recommending it to all of our family and friends!!!
The trip will stay in our memories forever and we hope that we will be able to visit Barbados again in the future.

My husband and I stayed at the Bougainvillea resort over Christmas 2006 - We were thrilled with the accommodations. Our room was bright and cheerful and spotlessly clean. After turning off the A/C each morning, the room was still wonderfully cool late in the afternoon.
We enjoyed the restaurants very much and sampled many different fish dishes, all delicious.
It is hard to express how friendly and eager to please were the staff, from the front desk to housekeeping to restaurant wait staff.
We will definitely be back to Barbados and, without a doubt, to the Bougainvillea.

We found a piece of paradise right in the heart of Barbados. We stayed at the Bougainvillea Resort in October 2004 and were married on the island. From the moment we arrived we were surrounded by beauty and tranquility. It was magical. The flowers were in abundance – so, too were the smiles. The pictures do not do the resort justice – it’s even more beautiful in person.
The staff couldn’t do enough for us. They are definitely good ambassadors for the hotel (and Barbados too). The food was great and the entire complex was squeaky clean. Everything was well-organized. It’s a great place for families and newlyweds alike. There’s so much to do and see. You never have to leave the place if you want to just relax. However, everything is so accessible – and all the tour companies pick you up and return you back to the resort.
We loved it so much that we returned in October 2005 for our first wedding anniversary. All of the staff remembered us and we were made so welcome. It was like coming home. We ended up buying a time-share at the Bougainvillea so we will be returning for many years to come.
On a scale of 1 – 10 we’d have to rate them at 15!
We are looking forward to visit number 3 in October and bringing some family members so they too can have a taste of paradise.

My husband & I were married on 07/11/05 overlooking the sea at the
Bougainvillea Resort. We can't put into words how perfect our day was, it was more that we could have dreamed of thanks to Heather (who's a superstar) the lovely vicar, photographer & video guys its a day we'll never ever forget.
The resort is outstanding we've never met such helpful people anywhere & can't wait for our next visit.
Barbados was our first taste of the Caribbean but its the only place for us!!!

Hi everyone at the Bougainvillea Beach Resort!
We stayed at the Bougainvillea Beach Resort for our week vacation in
January 2006! We were vacationing with our young adult kids & our parents....and we all had such a fantastic time! The rooms were perfect, we had the 2 bedroom beachfront apartment on the 3rd floor and WOW was it NICE. The view was perfect, rooms spacious, clean & extremely comfortable. Our parents had the one bedroom penthouse and they loved it, our 2 girls had a studio and again perfect and spacious as well!!!
The staff made our stay
perfect as well, from the minute we started to check in our gracious manager,
made sure she welcomed us and our check in went so smooth. Kim our bellman was
friendly, professional & always had a kind word & a hello. Onwards to the bar
staff - Roxy, James, Ray Ray & Marguerite....what absolutely wonderful & friendly people!! We were always greeted with enthusiasm, prompt service and wonderful conversations. They are a pool of knowledge about Barbados, the history & things to do & see! We all miss you guys! Housekeeping did a great job, rooms were clean & well kept.
The Bougainvillea Beach Resort is definitely in our minds one of the best vacation resorts we have stayed at (and we have stayed at many), From the beautiful hotel, perfect beaches, pools, spacious & Lovely rooms, good food, and of course the people who definitely made our stay Happy & Comfortable. We are in fact coming back again in January/07 and have booked again at Bougainvillea, as our search is over for the "PERFECT RESORT" !! Thanks Everyone ...see you again in January!
The Bougainvillea Hotel rocks - Mckie Family
I would just like to say that our stay at this hotel was fantastic. I am partly disabled and was treated so well that I almost forgot I was. The staff made sure that I was okay without making me feel that I was semi-dependant. One of them even gave a few tips and remedies. The hotel was well kept and very clean and the staff, some of the most happy and pleasant people I have ever met, so helpful and informative. We had the same maid for the duration of our stay and she performed beyond her duty on more than one occasion and showed nothing but kindness.
When we return we will definitely be staying at this hotel again. The Bougainvillea Hotel rocks!!!!!

Our family visited the Bougainvillea in March of 2006 and we were delighted by many aspects of the resort. Our first impression of Barbados was a great one due to Kim and Stephen, who are super bellboys. They were courteous and professional and a wealth of information. The front desk and housekeeping staff had our room ready when we arrived, even though it was 2 hours prior to the posted check-in time. Michelle and Heather and a few others (whose names we forget, we do apologize!!) provided help throughout our week long stay, always with a pleasant attitude. They answered island related questions and made restaurant reservations for us with the utmost courtesy.
Our room was a one bedroom deluxe which was clean, and comfortably slept 2 adults and 2 children. The housekeeping service was fantastic, and we can honestly say after
traveling extensively, that they were the most thorough cleaning staff we have ever encountered!
The water sports crew also deserves mention due to the fact that they were sociable and accommodating. JP and Ricky were quick with setting up the umbrellas and there were always plenty of towels to be had. We never had a problem finding beach chairs - this is an issue at many resorts, but not here. We would definitely return to Barbados and to the Bougainvillea based on the great service we received. Also, the fact that Bajans can really cook will keep us coming back!!

The grounds staff & housekeeping have been
very pleasant & the room has been a joy to return to each afternoon. Our suite is beautiful & the view delightful - couldn't ask for nicer accommodations.

We were married here in May 2001 and all I can say is 5*, fantastic! We
spent a lovely2 weeks at Bougainvillea during which we got married on the headland between the two sister hotels, paradise.....we have some gorgeous photos.
We stayed for 2 weeks and were then moving to a different part of the island for a extra week, our honeymoon, but the new hotel was such a let down compared to Bougainvillea resort we ended up on the phone asking to come back! You were fully booked in the Bougainvillea side but offered us the Sand
Acres, needless to say we jumped in a taxi and returned! The stay at Sand Acres was really relaxing and seemed more peaceful so it was perfect.
As a travel agent myself I highly recommend to stay here when you are considering your holiday to Barbados.
Thanks to all the great staff the welcome was warm and the stay idyllic, we will be back next year for our 5th wedding anniversary!

Thank you for making our holiday a truly wonderful experience. I was so impressed upon our arrival and thought that this hotel was too good to be true, from the very beginning the staff were helpful carrying out luggage up to our room, which was immaculately clean, which is very important to me having young children. We hired a little car, again from the hotel, no problem and for the first week ventured out in the mornings, but every time we returned to the hotel, we discovered we had everything we needed right there, beautiful beach, three wonderful pools, gorgeous food, cool, clean room, beach activities (if you can muster up the energy) even buckets and spades for the kids.
The staff was all wonderful. I am sorry I cannot remember names, but thank you to the man who stood at the front, where my little boy would jump into his arms, thanks to the very friendly, efficient and polite maids colleen and Deborah, my kids adore you, thank you to the staff at Lanterns, amazing Bajan cooking. thanks to the guys on the beach who would replace our towels, put umbrella out for our kids to find some shade, and who would have us in stitches of laughter, thanks to the bar staff and the shows the children loved. Just want to feedback to you that my friend and I had a great time staying at you hotel. We were originally booked into another hotel on the island and were so disappointed that we asked to be moved a day later. We both felt that our holiday was destroyed until we checked into the Bougainvillea. On arrival the staff were friendly and inviting even though we turned up looking miserable at 11.00am! We were immediately provided with a voucher to obtain towels for the beach even though the rooms would not be ready for two more hours and told where the poolside bar was, important on holiday!!
The lady serving us at the bar increased our renewed holiday enthusiasm by her warm welcome. As the days went by we began to feel like part of the 'hotel family' and even received a great history of the island from James. I could sit here and type all the staff names we met during our stay including, reception, bar, restaurant, cleaning staff etc but I am afraid it would probably be everyone working for you.
Keep up the great work, your team are the best customer carers I have met in a long time.

We couldn't have asked for a better view. You have no idea how much that meant to us
to sit on the balcony and have such a wonderful view of the ocean.
It was also convenient for walking out to the beach.
The whole staff at the resort was very friendly. A few people that we Found to make
our trip even better were Michele (from the very start she greeted us with a cold drink
at check-in and always had a smile whenever we saw her);
Kim (he also greeted us with a smile and took care of our bags at check-in,
and the whole week he made a point to stop and talk with us);
James (he was bartending at the pool bar and we called him smiling James,
he had the best smile and personality).
We are definitely coming back and will stay at the Bougainvillea again!

They had beautiful fresh flowers all through our room and a bottle of
chilled champagne when we arrived! Everyone we met at the resort was wonderful...
especially the pool bartender Roxy - She made even the rainy days fun!
The resort was beautiful and from the minute we checked in until the minute we
checked out we had nothing short of a wonderful experience at Bougainvillea.
A great resort though can't be complete without the great staff - and that is
truly what they have!! Thank you for a wonderful stay!! :)

We recently made our first trip to the Caribbean, Barbados and stayed at the Bougainvillea Beach Resort,
Maxwell beach. The beach was fantastic - one, if not the nicest we saw and we traveled up from the
south along the west in a boat. The location is great, right on the beach and has 3 swimming pools.
A 5-minute taxi ride to St Lawrence's gap for some really nice restaurants. Look for a room above
ground floor level with a view of the beach.
Paradise Found - England
Just returned from a 16-day holiday at this hotel. This was recommended by an unknown couple
while we were both purchasing new suitcases a while ago. They had had two previous holidays here.
There was nothing that we could fault with the hotel; in fact the only complaint from my point of
view was it was too blooming hot!!! It is great for families and couples of all ages. The cleanliness
of the place was of a high standard and we observed early every morning the pools, gardens and all other
facilities were cleaned and tidied to perfection.
The beach was on the doorstep and having visited the
West Coast beaches felt ours was far better. Hotel staff was helpful and courteous. I booked this hotel
on recommendation without considering any others and would choose the Bougainvillea when we next return to Barbados.

Hi Bougainvillea Beach Resort! I would really like to just say that Bougainvillea Beach Resort is one of the
best resorts I have ever stayed at.
I have been to many places in the Caribbean (I am a huge traveler!) and this is one of the BEST resorts I have stayed at.
Everyone who works there is really amazing.
The rooms are beautiful and very clean. The entertainment at night is also really
great and the water sports is amazing. They have wonderful people who work there for
water sports (to name two of the best-
Jean-Paul and Ricky) who ensure you have a good time! Bougainvillea Beach Resort definitely gets my two thumbs up and
I would
rate it a 10/10 and I am looking forward to coming back again next summer!
