The grand finale to the Crop Over celebration, this public holiday is a summer street carnival where you can watch featured "Kadooment bands" dressed in costumes, designers competing for the Designer of the Year award, and revelers parade by on their way from National Stadium to Spring Garden Highway. You can also join locals and visitors alike in the "jump-up", a joyous celebration and dance through the streets to calypso music. At Spring Garden, Barbadians continue with the festivities with more music, food, and drinks. Some decide to even take a dip at a nearby beach. Kadooment Day symbolizes and markes the end of the sugar cane harvest.
